To a sailor.

The call of voyage drags you from your hearth
Demanding all your strength to look ahead
Ambition isolated you since birth
and made the fickle waves your lonely bed.

How often you’ve resisted looking back
by standing ‘fore triumphant sails of force
you beat against the wind to stay on track,
without a fear for deviating course.

But worried pulse is sensed by you and me!
An endless trip you cannot take alone
For shallow oars cannot direct the sea
and any fault may never be atoned:

Amidst the storm I’ll help you keep control,
My dearest captain of her fate and soul.
