Throughout my life, prose and poetry have constantly vied for domination of presence in my creative writing, and it would be unfair to say that either of them has the upper hand. I've written more poetry than prose in general partly because the English classes I took in high school required it.
I found that writing quickly became the best therapy for me. I could release all my emotions on paper -- everything from the most blissful euphoria to the most debilitating pain. The page became my companion, and the computer/pen my weapon. Writing has also stimulated my mind because I found myself constantly trying to come up with the perfect word to end my stanza or the most accurate alliteration that would depict the moment. Writing is a puzzle for me, and it brings a sense of inner peace when the piece is complete. I've divided my writing by year on the navigation bar. Please feel free to browse through them. |
