midnight revelation.

Your eyes and mine – they were not meant to look
Upon the grief that curses with its schemes,
But still we struggle as cruel Fortune’s crook
And snatch away false hopes and falser dreams

As fiery stars cannot once they are near
Set loose the bond holding their centers tight.
Like them we rave; to us then, it is clear
That love shall grow unless it stops tonight.

Behold how union prolongs severance!
Do not kiss me, but kiss some other fool,
Who has no knowledge of the sentiment
That lovers function with one simple rule:

As much conjoined as our emotions grew,
So much more difficult away from you.
