My apologies for the inconvenience, but Conspicuous is still in its incipient stages, and I'm working on getting more of it written, edited, and polished. Please bear with me!
Welcome to Conspicuous.
In case you didn't read the introduction on my homepage, I have neurological conditions called Tourette Syndrome (TS) and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). You can read more about TS here. Unfortunately, TS isn't such a common condition, so people like me often receive things from genuine concerns to derogatory remarks. In college, I developed a symptom of Tourette's called coprolalia (Greek for "feces-speak"), which causes me to say socially inappropriate words and phrases. Obviously, this has caused and continues to cause many misunderstandings, but I'm grateful to say that most of my friends are still comfortable around me.
Tourette Syndrome has changed my life completely, perhaps for the worse. But I believe a glimmer of hope lies behind every shroud of darkness, so instead of letting this condition take me over, I want to expose myself, write about it—write about me—and give you a sense of my life up to this point. Although I am young, believe me when I say that it's quite a story.
